“Cold words freeze people, and hot words scorch them, and bitter words make them bitter, and wrathful words make them wrathful. Kind words also produce their own image on men’s souls; and a beautiful image it is. They smooth, and quiet, and comfort the hearer.” Blaise Pascal
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I always enjoy visitors. Hopefully the words that you read can be God’s way of brightening your day. Feel free to leave a comment or remark.
First and foremost, I am deeply in love with my Savior. I pray that I may be a woman after God's own Heart!
I am currently a twenty-six year old average Pennsylvania Mennonite girl. I love writing and would spend my entire existence sketching ideas and stories onto paper if it weren’t for the fact that I have to work. Someday, I hope that writing will be my work (but to me it would still feel like enjoyment)! I also love kids and music; so the greatest combination in the world is that I can be a choir director for a girls’ choir. I have self-published a children’s book called Mosquit: The Very Disobedient Mosquito, and just recently Love Lifted Me was published by Christian Light Publications. I have bookshelves full of books because, of course, reading is my second favorite thing.
My bucket list is always heaping full, and I’m pretty sure that I can never fit all the adventures and travel I desire into one lifetime!
I am completely pathetic in the region of math and science….and am pretty sure that my brain only functions in the arts such as painting, music, writing, reading, and crafts. My favorite activity would be to curl up on the train (with a fuzzy blanket, leather-bound journal, chai, a C.S. Lewis or Chesterton book, a Libera or Josh Groban c.d.) and watch the snow falling outside a window overlooking an evergreen forest (just as dusk is falling). Ahhhh–Heavenly!
I like vanilla-bean candles, crackling fireplaces, cinnamony chai with lots of whipped topping, peanut butter sauce over vanilla frozen yogurt with chunks of cookie dough, whipped hot chocolate, cozy scarves, knitted mittens, vintage dresses, colorful Volkswagens, falling snow just as it starts to get dark, crayons, children’s laughter, polka dots, the Eiffel Tower, crazy knee-high socks, monkey slippers, bubble baths, picnics by the lake, classical music, slow train rides, melancholy poems, and musicals.
My favorite books are The Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Set-Apart Femininity, At the Back of the North Wind, The Last Leaf, Leo Tolstoy’s works, Father Brown Mysteries, Sherlock Holmes, Les Mis, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Scarlet Letter, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Hundred-Acre Woods, Peter Rabbit, Dr. Seuss’ books, Pride and Prejudice……….and the list goes on and on and on!
I love mission work and meeting new people. My heart breaks for hurting children. If each Christian would do a little something for God in their own little corner of the world, there would amazing differences on a global effect.
Blessings for the Journey- MarJanita LaRosa
